A little story behind this graceful flower...
One of my favorite pass-times is yard sales. I once happened upon a table full of odds and ends where an antique "tiny...old" wooded, sewing shaped box caught my attention. Inside the box were several small envelopes, each stamped with the words "Fort Vancouver National Historic Site Heirloom Seeds" and a handwritten name of the flower seeds on them. Not knowing whether the seeds would still germinate I was charmed by the box alone. I couldn't wait to get the seeds in the ground. Out of the various seeds that have sprouted....My favorite is a brilliant corner of Red Poppies of which I just had to share! This heirloom poppy is so detailed, that even underneath captures an irresistible view.
It has now become my calling card or business card image to share with everyone!
